Approach
This accelerated Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) course designed specifically for Start-up and Small to Medium Enterprises combines 1 day of instruction and experiential learning with up to four hours of company specific remote support following the session.
Participants will gain insight on how to think differently about their business, industry, competitors, their use of resources and how they approach innovation.
Objectives and Expectations
Participants can expect to:
• Learn, examine and put into practice the central concepts, frameworks and analytical tools of Blue Ocean Strategy formulation and execution.
• Directly experience the BOS formulation process under the guidance of a Certified BOS Practitioner.
• Work in a highly interactive, dynamic, small group, team-based environment.
• Walk in with issues and challenges and walk out with commercially viable, actionable plans.

Blue Ocean Strategy Key Concepts Review
This includes:
- The Three Aligning Propositions of BOS
- Value Innovation
- The Six Principles of New Market Creation
- The Four Step Process
The Visual Awakening Phase
The entire strategy team must first agree on the company’s current “state of play” prior to offering suggestions for the future. The tools introduced during this phase assist companies with:
- Evaluating themselves against their biggest competitors using the ‘As Is Strategy Canvas’
- Viewing where their offerings lie in comparison to their industry by using the ‘Pioneer Migrator Settler Map’
- Identifying their customer’s “pain points” during the entire buying cycle by using the Buyer Utility Map
- Identifying noncustomers
Visual Exploration Phase
The second phase focuses on researching both the experience of your customer and your noncustomer. Using this research, your company will explore how to break out of industry-created boundaries using the Six Paths Framework.

Cancellation / Rescheduling Policy
Participants my request a full refund or opt to reschedule if they provide two or more weeks notice. No refund will be provided with less than two weeks notice, however participant still have the option to reschedule.
